“The Pat McAfee Show” will be back at Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. McAfee revealed on his show on Thursday that the crew will be at St. Vincent College on Aug. 3 for Steelers training camp.
Plum native Pat McAfee brought The Pat McAfee Show to St. Vincent College for the first time last year.
“We had a blast last year. It was so hot,” McAfee said. “That’s training camp, though. That’s what we need. We’re going to see Mike McCarthy at training camp for the first time. Cannot wait. Just to hear the speeches, everything on how the boys are handling it. August 3rd we’ll be at Steelers training camp. That’s sooner than it is later.”
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who used to be a weekly guest on The Pat McAfee Show during the season, was one of the interviews on the show last year at Steelers training camp. Rodgers and McCarthy most likely will appear on set again this year.
Rodgers is looking forward to returning to St. Vincent College.
“I’ll tell you one thing I really am excited about, and that’s going back to Latrobe, and that’s no BS,” Rodgers said with a smile at OTAs. “I can’t wait for that.”
“Besides [getting ice cream from] Meadows, I just love the opportunity for camaraderie and for that team chemistry,” Rodgers added.
Rodgers thinks building amaraderie with teammates is the biggest benefit of Steelers training camp at St. Vincent College.
“Mike [Tomlin] used to talk about a lot capturing that cannot be kind of quantified, and that’s what Latrobe gives,” Rodgers said. “The opportunity to spend time with each other at nighttime on the breaks, and you’re staying in a dorm, you know, sharing a bathroom and a shower with a teammate, and there’s some great team bonding opportunities for that and I just think it’s invaluable.”
