LOOK AT THIS GRAPH.

Thank you to Timo Riske of Pro Football Focus for publishing the rate that opposing offenses double-team edge defenders after Week 3’s action. This should be particularly interesting to Green Bay Packers fans, considering how often their players show up on the right side of the graph.

Per the data, Micah Parsons is getting double-teamed about as frequently as Myles Garrett, a tandem that is a healthy lead ahead of the rest of the league. That’s not shocking, considering both are All-Pro talents.

What is more interesting, though, is that Kingsley Enagbare is between Aidan Hutchinson and T.J. Watt for fourth place in the league-wide pecking order. I’m not sure how many people would have guessed Enagbare’s name would be among that group of pass-rushers.

Lukas Van Ness and Rashan Gary also both crack the top 10. In total, all four of the Packers’ top edge defenders for the 2025 season are getting double-teamed over 40 percent of the time, with Enagbare and Parsons breaking over 50 percent. That’s incredible.

It seems that opposing offenses are going out of their way not just to stop Parsons with multiple bodies, but also every other edge defender that the Packers throw out there on Sundays. To say ahead, defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is going to have to continue to find creative ways to force one-on-ones for his team’s biggest playmakers.

As we wrote about earlier this week in our detailed snap counts, Green Bay did just that against the Cleveland Browns, allowing just one drive of over 40 yards in their loss on Sunday. The Packers debuted a Penny package, where they had three defensive ends on the field. That allowed linebackers Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper to play on the edge with Parsons at linebacker. That’s one way to force more one-on-ones, as teams can only plan for so much help on the interior.

While Parsons’ snap count restriction is officially over, the volume of packages that Green Bay played defensively doubled from Week 2 to Week 3. It’s finally time to venture into the creative realm and see what Hafley can cook up to free up his pass rushers.
