The NFL Draft has passed, and the Cowboys still have a major issue
Inside The Star Inside The Star

The NFL draft is now over, and the Dallas Cowboys graded out just fine, but still lack a major issue following the weekend.

I am sure you can all guess what I am going to get into here, but first let me give credit.

The 2025 draft by this front office was good, really good, but I would feel much better if this team did not have a glaring issue at one of the most important spots in all of football.

They still do not have a guy they can line up next to CeeDee Lamb and pose a threat, and who knows if they are going to get one?

If the Cowboys had done … literally anything … anything at all about their WR room, I’d be over the moon for this draft. I really do like the picks and the value.

idk how that’s supposed to make CeeDee Lamb’s job any easier. maybe they really do have something in mind.

Jerry Just Talking

Following the draft, Jones noted that the club views Jonathan Mingo, whom it traded for last year, as part of its draft class.

The Cowboys owner also suggested that every avenue wasn’t closed to adding a veteran to the group.

“It definitely was a big-time thought, but the train has not left the station if improvement is needed from what we’ve got on campus,” Jones said Saturday, via the team’s official transcript.

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys could look at add to the wide receiver room with a veteran. He also mentioned Jonathan Mingo, who was acquired with a fourth round pick last year, as a player they can make a jump in 2025.

“I’m looking at the same sheet maybe you got in front of you that I have in front of me and it shows our No. 114 pick trade to Carolina for Jonathan Mingo.”

I mean come on, Jerry. You think Mingo has any real chance to be a guy teams are going to need to prepare for the week before they play the Dallas Cowboys?

Just think about it, Dallas went the entire draft without taking a wide receiver. Heck, they only drafted two skill players!

The Cowboys waited until the fifth round to address the running back position, selecting Jaydon Blue from Texas at #149.

In the seventh round, Dallas added another running back, Phil Mafah from Clemson, at #239. That is it, the only two skill players.

Blue has a chance to make the roster, but I don’t see it with Mafah.

Maybe A Trade?

The only other time we have seen this team trade for a guy when they needed one was Amari Cooper and a few offseasons ago when they traded for Brandin Cooks.

This team cannot go into the season with the current outlook at the WR position. They are already going...
