Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
NFL’s 15 most interesting figures for the 2025 season - SB Nation
Saquon Barkley: Barkley fueled the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl winning season by putting together one of the best all-around seasons ever produced by a running back. He was dominant. We know the shelf life of running backs is a real thing, but this is Barkley’s age 28 season. So, his second season with the Eagles after darting from NFC East foe, the New York Giants, can be just as impressive. It’s worth watching. [BLG Note: Jayden Daniels also makes the list.]
14 I don’t knows from the Eagles’ spring practices - BGN
EDGE JOSHUA UCHE: Uche didn’t stand out in practice. But he did get some notable mentions during press conferences. When asked about the edge rusher position, Uche was the first name mentioned by Fangio after Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt. He also brought up Uche’s name again, along with Azeez Ojulari’s, in an answer to a broader question about the team’s defensive depth. Lane Johnson first mentioned Uche when asked if any of the Eagles’ edge rushers are standing out to him. He also talked about how Uche gave him some challenges in the past. Zack Baun said Uche is among the down-the-depth-chart players who’ve talked to him about going from relative afterthought to a bonafide star. Uche seems to realize the opportunity to reset his market. Some encouraging signs so far. But going to need to see on-field production before totally buying in.
Eagles stock up, stock down: Spring practices edition - PhillyVoice
STOCK DOWN: S Sydney Brown: Brown got first-team reps, but he had to split them rookie Andrew Mukuba. It was also probably not a great sign for Vic Fangio’s trust in Brown when Fangio said that DeJean might play some safety in the base defense.
With Philly at the center of the sports world, what does that mean for Jeffrey Lurie and the Eagles? - Inquirer
So Lurie’s hopes for the Linc as a Super Bowl venue were pretty much gone, and what was left? The stadium can’t host a men’s or women’s Final Four, and if the NFL does end up following through on the (terrible) idea of playing its conference championship games at neutral sites, the Linc won’t be an option. But a domed stadium would. The idea in so many ways sounds like a nonstarter. Such a project would come with an estimated cost $2 billion to $3 billion, and that’s just an estimate. SoFi Stadium in Englewood, Calif., for instance, was supposed to cost $2.66 billion; it reportedly ended up costing $6.75 billion in inflation-adjusted dollars. What chance is there that Lurie would cover that mammoth expense himself? If Shapiro and other state politicians weren’t inclined to give the Sixers money for their arena, why would they give it to Lurie and the Eagles? Especially when the Steelers, whose stadium has been around...
