Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
Jalen Hurts says he’s focused on the new and not his Eagles Super Bowl ring: ‘The past is behind us’ - Inquirer
In another photo, the 26-year-old quarterback sat on a sofa with Brandon Graham, who had a Super Bowl ring on each hand. A ringless Hurts simply pointed his left index finger to the Lombardi Trophy in his right hand. But did he ever wear the ring away from the cameras? Hurts didn’t answer the question directly after the Eagles’ first training camp practice on Wednesday. “I’ve moved on,” Hurts said. “I’ve moved on to the new year. It’s as simple as that.”
Eagles focused on 2025, bristle at ‘defending champions’ label - ESPN+
The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2025 campaign hyper-focused on turning the page from their Super Bowl run last season, to the point where terms such as “defending champs” and “repeat” are being left on the cutting-room floor. “We’re the 2024 world champs, that’s it. We’re not defending s---,” Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata said after the team’s first training camp practice Wednesday. “I don’t like hearing we’re the defending champions. We’re not defending nothing. We just won the title, and now we’ve got to go win it again, prove it all over again. That’s the mentality this team is going to have. We’re not here to prove anything to anyone else but ourselves and we know the mission. We’re mission-focused.”
Saquon Barkley turns page on Super Bowl season as Eagles start camp - NJ.com
“How do you mentally turn the page? It’s kind of easy,” Barkley said on Wednesday morning at the NovaCare Complex. “That’s the nature of this game. That’s the nature of this business. What have you done for me lately? Whether you win a Super Bowl, have a great year, you’re All-Pro, what you did the year prior has nothing to do with this year coming up.” Barkley acknowledged, “You have your moments” to cherish that level of success before moving on. One was the Super Bowl parade. Going from South Philadelphia all the way up to the Museum of Art, Barkley and his teammates were showered with praise (and champagne).
Eagles Training Camp Practice Notes: Cooper DeJean plays safety, Jihaad Campbell ahead of schedule, and much more - BGN
JIHAAD CAMPBELL UPDATE: The Eagles’ 2025 first-round pick was listed as limited but he didn’t seem to miss many reps, if any. It’s possible he wouldn’t have been practicing to the same extent if the team was in pads. We’ll see how that goes once those come on. Still, good to see him out there after Vic Fangio previously said he wouldn’t be able to practice until August. Campbell lined up at second-team linebacker next to fellow rookie Smael Mondon Jr. in team drills. He broke up a Tanner McKee pass meant for Danny Gray at one point.
