Ranking 2025 NFL rosters: Best projected starting lineups - ESPN+
2) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. Biggest strength: Offensive tackle. The defending champs have many strengths, but it’s tough to beat arguably the league’s top tackle duo, with Jordan Mailata manning the left side and Lane Johnson on the right. Mailata ranked among the top tackles in PFF grade, pass block win rate and run block win rate in both 2023 and 2024. Johnson is 35 years old but hasn’t lost a step, ranking top 10 among tackles in pass and run block win rate last season. Biggest weakness: Edge rusher. Josh Sweat (free agency), Brandon Graham (retirement) and Bryce Huff (trade) are all gone, leaving Nolan Smith Jr. as the only established player on the depth chart. Smith is likely to be joined in the starting lineup by 2024 third-rounder Jalyx Hunt, who was a solid backup as a rookie. Offseason additions/journeymen Azeez Ojulari and Joshua Uche will compete for work. [...] Nonstarter to know: Cornerback Kelee Ringo. Ringo hasn’t gotten on the field much since the Eagles took him in the fourth round of the 2023 draft. He played only 10 snaps or more in three games last season. But he has shown promise in limited playing time, with above-average coverage DVOA in both seasons. He has got the physical tools at 6-foot-2 with 4.36 speed, but he’s inconsistent. If veteran Adoree’ Jackson falters, Ringo could earn the starting spot, replacing Darius Slay.

Top 10 things I want to watch at Eagles training camp 2025 - NBCSP
1. The safety competition There are plenty of quality competitions that will take place over the next few weeks but the one I’m most looking forward to watching is at safety, where the Eagles will try to replace C.J. Gardner-Johnson. According to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, there are three candidates for the starting job next to Reed Blankenship: Sydney Brown, Drew Mukuba and Tristin McCollum. While everyone knew Brown and Mukuba were competing, Fangio let it be known that McCollum has a shot too. During spring practices, the Eagles rotated a ton at the safety positions. If that continues during training camp, Fangio will get a good look at plenty of different combinations. Even though Fangio included McCollum, it seems more likely that this competition will come down to Brown vs. Mukuba. Brown has the edge in experience but most of his NFL experience came in 2023 before Fangio was the DC. Mukuba is a second-round pick who was already getting first-team reps this spring. The fun part about this competition is the individual players. Both Brown and Mukuba have different but very fun play styles. Brown is a huge safety with great speed and he plays with an aggression and hair-on-fire...
