Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from winning the AFC West after a loss to the Texans and were on the brink of being eliminated from the postseason. Entering Sunday, they were facing a scenario where they would be eliminated with a loss and wins by the Bills over the Patriots, Jaguars over the Jets, and Texans over the Cardinals.

Well, that all happened.

The Buffalo Bills completed a second-half comeback over the Patriots, the Texans dominated the Cardinals, the Jaguars dropped 50-plus on the Jets, and the Chiefs fell to the Chargers.

Now, the Kansas City Chiefs have been officially eliminated from the postseason. To make matters worse for the Chiefs, it appears that quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a serious knee injury in the final minutes of the game.

The Chiefs’ reign in the AFC West ended last week, and now, with this loss, their reign of the AFC and possibly their dynasty are over.

We also had the Patriots falling to the Bills, which will keep the Broncos as the one seed in the AFC, no matter their result vs. the Packers. However, a win would give them a healthy lead over the Patriots for the 1 seed and keep the Chargers 2 games back in the AFC West.

With Mahomes suffering a knee injury and the Chiefs being eliminated, we will likely see quarterback Gardner Minshew under center for the Chiefs on Christmas Night. Still a tough game in Arrowhead but no Mahomes will make that game much easier for the Broncos who will be looking fot a victory on Christmas Night.

The Kansas City Chiefs reign of terror has ended.
