If the Houston Texans had any hopes of taking down the Patriots, it was dashed on Friday.
The confidence to take down the number 2 seed dwindled last week when star wideout Nico Collins was carted off the field. It followed a nasty shot to his head. The news only got worse later in the week. On Friday, it was reported that the Texans would be without their top wideout against the New England Patriots. Collins has been ruled out due to a concussion.
In 15 regular-season games this year, Collins caught 71 passes for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns.
Not to mention, star quarterback CJ Stroud was good and terrible against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Houston Texans demolished the Pittsburgh Steelers by 30-6 in the AFC Wild Card Round. Stroud’s performance was sketchy. His box score read 250 passing yards and a touchdown, with a 65.6% pass completion rate.
Unfortunately, the Houston Texans quarterback fumbled an almost unbelievable five times against the Steelers. Despite all of that, a few ESPN analysts still have faith in them.
On NFL Live, a panel of five people, including Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears, all picked the Houston Texans to advance. Everyone had them defeating the Patriots to get to their first AFC Championship Series in team history.
Wait for the NFL Live crew to realize they all picked Houston 😭 pic.twitter.com/62sNKE0MVj

Things won’t come easily as snow has been seen in the forecast for this game. That is sure to favor the Patriots.
Houston is going to the Divisional Round of the AFC Playoffs despite their quarterback fumbling five times against the Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s a term in sports called “winning ugly,” and the Texans did that last week.
DeMeco Ryan’s top-rated defense was the reason why the team is moving on. Stroud seemed to do everything possible to ensure it was not going to happen with his play. He needs to be much better.
Following the game, Stroud didn’t hide his disappointment with his own performance. “We had some problems with the snap, me catching them,” said Stroud after Monday night’s win. “Got to find a way to catch ’em and take care of the ball.”
All the Houston Texans B has to do is not turn the ball over, and he can make the game so much easier for his team. His mistakes could have been costly for Houston, but thankfully, it did not come to that.
He can’t possibly be even worse, right?
