A New York Giants fan has sparked fury across the internet after she “cruelly” stole a gift meant for a young Chiefs fan last Sunday. The woman, dubbed “Giants Karen,” has since been identified, and the apology she issued after being dragged online isn’t enough for NFL fans to forgive her.
The moment was captured after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the New York Giants 22-9 during their game. As quarterback Patrick Mahomes walked toward the crowd in the stands, he took off his thermal sleeve and handed it to a young fan wearing a Chiefs hat. The boy had barely grasped the sleeve when an adult woman snatched it out of his hands. The boy turns to the camera and says, “Yo, she just stole that from me!”
The video, which was posted on the @kansas.city.karen’s TikTok account, has led to an outpouring of outrage online.
Many criticized a grown woman for “stealing” from a child.
“As a mother this would of been handled different,” a top comment read, while another wrote, “The fact grown adults keep doing this.”
Many pointed out that the woman wasn’t even a Chiefs fan, yet she took Mahomes’ sleeve.
“Mahomes is making EYE CONTACT with the kid while handing it to him,” another pointed out. “That’s messed up.”
It didn’t take long for the “Karen” to identify herself online. Nina Miller posted two TikToks about the incident—the first one defending her actions and the second one backtracking.

In her first clip addressing the incident, Miller (@michaelmiller_nina) starts, “I did not steal a headband from a little kid.”
She says that in the last 2 minutes of the game, she “allowed” many to come sit down or stand next to her. Miller says she paid for her seats, and the others standing around probably came from further back.
“I don’t know if that kid’s from the nosebleeds,” she says. Miller continued to defend her actions, saying that the parents should toughen up the kid more.
“It is what it is,” she says in the clip.
Needless to say, the clip only fueled the fans’ anger more. So much so that she made a follow-up clip issuing an apology for her behavior.
“I honestly thought Patrick Mahomes was giving me the headband,” she says in her apology video. Miller continues that she only felt horrible after she found out it was the boy’s 10-year-old birthday.
“To the young boy, I’m sorry I ruined your moment. You should have had your moment for your birthday,” Miller says. She then asks TikTok to help her put her in contact with the little boy so she can give him the sleeve.
“I’m a human. I make mistakes; I’m not perfect. But I’m also a mom, also a Christian,” Miller says of the comments she’s been receiving. “I’m sorry to everyone, but I’m mostly sorry to you, Joey.”...
