Well, the relationship between new Pittsburgh Steelers stars Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf seems to be off to a strong start.
The new-look Steelers brought in three notable superstars this offseason. After acquiring DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, they signed Aaron Rodgers in free agency. To top it off, they acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey and veteran tight end Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster deal that sent Minkah Fitzpatrick back to South Beach.
Many football fans and pundits criticized the Steelers for taking a chance on Rodgers, given the baggage he brought after a dismal stint with the New York Jets. The good news for Pittsburgh fans? Rodgers and Metcalf seem to be hitting it off nicely as teammates.
Speaking to Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, Metcalf said that head coach Mike Tomlin has Rodgers and Metcalf “sharing a bathroom for the next month” to improve their communication.
That’s where Metcalf opened up about a bizarre toilet tale involving his new teammate, as documented by Epstein:
“The toilet is super loud. So he was like, ‘Yeah, at night, if we got to piss, just don’t flush the toilet.’ I was like, ‘All right, bet.’”
The nightly urge indeed overcame Metcalf around 9:30 Wednesday night so the receiver texted his quarterback to ask: “You asleep yet?”
Rodgers confirmed he was awake.
“All right, bet,” Metcalf texted back, “I’m about to flush the toilet.”
And flush he did.”
