Social media is teeing off on Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love after he delivered a terrible first pitch before the Milwaukee Brewers’ home game on Monday.

Green Bay’s star signal-caller had the honors of throwing the ceremonial first pitch to Brewers All-Star Christian Yelich before they hosted the Boston Red Sox at American Family Field.

But with all due respect to Jordan Love, it certainly wasn’t the first pitch you’d expect to see from a professional athlete. Even the NBA’s tallest basketball players wouldn’t want to swing at a pitch this out of the zone:

Football fans had all sorts of priceless reactions to Jordan Love’s awful delivery:

The Brewers held on for a tight 3-2 win over Boston in the first of a three-game set, despite another remarkable outing by Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet (11 strikeouts, two earned runs in 6.2 innings pitched.

Milwaukee moved to 27-28 and improved its home record to 16-10. Sitting four games out of the final wild card spot in the National League, however, the Brewers will need to get on a run if they’re to climb back in the playoff race.

Jordan Love & Packers Open Season vs. Detroit Lions

The Packers have been notorious slow starters in the 2020s, losing three of their last four Week 1 contests. It doesn’t get any easier this year, with Love and the Packers set to host the NFC North rival Detroit Lions at 4:25 p.m. EST.

Detroit swept the season series last season and has gone 5-1 over Matt LaFleur’s group since 2022. We’ll see if Love can help the Pack buck the trend and start the year on a high note.
