Howie Roseman makes ANOTHER trade:

Howie has added Bigsby, John Metchie, Fred Johnson, Sam Howell, and Jakorian Bennett. Not sure the season hinges on any one of those players specifically, but he’s using this stockpiled draft capital to attack the margins and find ways to improve the roster.

Bigsby is only 24 years old and was pretty good in 2024. He ran the ball 168 times for 766 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per run. Travis Etienne had a poor season and Bigsby filled the hole on a Jag-wires team that, admittedly, was pretty horrendous. He also returned 10 kicks for the Jags over his first two seasons. He was a third round pick out of Auburn in 2023 and remains on his rookie deal.

Note that Will Shipley injured his ribs in the opener and is expected to miss some time. There should be a backup + kick return role for Bigsby here, who joins the Saquon Barkley and A.J. Dillon running back room. As much as we talk about Saquon’s importance to the Birds, Kenny Gainwell played very well as a backup in 2024 and they need to keep that RB2/RB3 position in good shape.

Meantime, sources tell Crossing Broad that Tank Bigsby is not related to Clayton Bigsby, the famous author:
