Early schedule leaks point to the Chiefs still being a big draw for the NFL.

During the final stretch of the 2024 NFL season, many felt it seemed destined that the Kansas City Chiefs would represent the AFC in the Super Bowl against the would-be NFC Champion Detroit Lions.

It wasn’t to be.

The Chiefs held up to their end of the bargain, but the Lions were upset by the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round.

We know how the rest of the playoffs played out.

As it turns out, the Chiefs and Lions will indeed meet on a Sunday night — but it will be in the regular season in Week 6, according to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz. The game will kick off on NBC at 7:20 p.m.

As the perennial AFC West winner, the Chiefs’ schedule is always a bit difficult, but 2025’s opening stretch is already proving to be somewhat of a gauntlet. At the time of this writing, the Chiefs are reported to open in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers, followed by a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

Just four weeks later, it will be Chiefs-Lions on Sunday night at Arrowhead.
