Not gonna lie, before the season started, I was just hoping the Chicago Bears would be playing some meaningful football in November, because it’s been a while since we’ve experienced that. I never imagined that the Chicago Bears would enter December as the NUMBER ONE SEED IN THE NFC!

But here we are.

Look at us.

With the Carolina Panthers’ 31-28 win over the Los Angeles Rams earlier today, the Bears have moved into the top seed due to a better Conference record.

Here’s how the top of the conference looks right now. We’ll update the standings as the games conclude.

NFC standings during Week 13

1. Chicago Bears (9-3, 6-2 in the NFC)
2. Los Angeles Rams (9-3, 4-3 in the NFC)
3. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)
5. Seattle Seahawks (8-3) Hosting the Vikings right now
6. Green Bay Packers (8-3-1)
7. San Francisco 49ers (9-4)

In The Hunt

8. Detroit Lions (7-5)
9. Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1)
10. Carolina Panthers (7-6) The Panthers are the gift that keeps on giving to the Bears!
11. Atlanta Falcons (4-7, win over MIN)
12. Minnesota Vikings (4-7, loss to ATL) Playing in Seattle now
13. Washington Commanders (3-8) Play on SNF vs the Denver Broncos
14. Arizona Cardinals (3-9)
15. New Orleans Saints (2-9)
16. New York Giants (2-10)

NFC North standings during Week 13

1. Chicago Bears (9-3)
2. Green Bay Packers (8-3-1)
3. Detroit Lions (7-5)
4. Minnesota Vikings (4-7)

It’s gonna feel strange rooting for the Vikings today, but for seeding/playoff purposes, the Seahawks losing will help the Bears out.

Next week’s showdown with the Packers will be huge.
