The Best Conspiracy Theory Currently Going is Bradley Cooper Being the Mystery Eagles Jacket Parade Gifter
Crossing Broad Crossing Broad

By now you’ve probably seen the post about the Eagles jacket that was found during the Super Bowl parade. A note was written inside, explaining that the original finder claimed it in 2018 and wanted to pass it on when the Birds won the title again. What’s very curious is that people have pointed out that the jacket is the same one that Bradley Cooper wore when he introduced the Eagles in New Orleans:

Also, it happens to be the same jacket Bradley Cooper wore when he announced the Eagles at the Super Bowl — and the same jacket my father owned in the ’80s and I now proudly own. The most legendary Eagles jacket in history. pic.twitter.com/7SvF1g3Fll

Surely the mystery jacket gifter is not… Bradley Cooper, is it? He wouldn’t give away a vintage jacket, would he? He wouldn’t add a fake of note of misdirection inside the jacket and give it away secretly, right? FOR WHO? FOR WHAT? For shits and giggles? For a little joke that he keeps to himself?

I put on a kelly green tinfoil hat and searched Google for examples of Cooper’s handwriting, but unfortunately couldn’t find anything other than a signature. So nothing to cross-examine there. He also does not have any personal social media accounts, so we’re unable to determine whether or not he was back in the Philadelphia region last week and in a position to place the jacket on a light pole outside the Art Museum, where it was found. The only thing I did come across was his appearance on Pat McAfee’s show, where he appears to be sitting in some sort of small office or art room that looks very Bucks Countyish (h/t M.D.) –

There are so many throwback Eagles jackets out there now that it’s hard to determine what’s original and what’s retro. This one does appear to be old school and authentic, though, as you can see from the original image, then the picture that Amy Rannabargar shared with the Inquirer. It’s one of the 1990s satin bomber jackets with the white Eagles logo, the NFL crest on the left shoulder, and the Starter logo further down. You see the trim on the collar and around the wrists as well:

On the exterior, it’s a perfect match. The originals are selling for more than $500 on Ebay and other sites.

The only thing about this jacket is that I’ve found different tags on the inside. Some read “authentic Proline by Starter,” while others say “Proline by starter, New Haven CT.” The latter is written on the inside of the viral parade jacket, while some classic versions carry the other tag. At some point they must have added or removed the New Haven part:

We’d have to...
