Niners Nation
The NFL announced the Pro Bowl rosters at 7 a.m. PT on Tuesday. Once again, the San Francisco 49ers were well represented with six players making it:
Luke Gifford
Kyle Juszczyk
George Kittle
Christian McCaffrey
Jon Weeks
Trent Williams
Gifford leads the team in snaps and tackles on special teams. He’s also among the league leaders in special teams tackles.
Juszczyk will always be among the most voted-for players at fullback.
Kittle is unlikely to sniff a 1,000-yard season, but his impact is as much as it ever has been, even in the years when he was breaking single-season records.
McCaffrey crossed the 1,000-yard mark on Monday night. He also has nine rushing touchdowns this season to go along with 92 receptions and 849 receiving yards. A 1,000-1,000 season feels inevitable.
We’re not sure how the long-snapper ends up on the ballot or even making the Pro Bowl, but the league has taken note of the 49ers’ special teams improvement. Skyy Moore was listed as an alternate. He’s been electric as a returner.
Finally, Trent Williams, at 37, continues to excel. He’s gotten better with each game and was easily deserving of being recognized among the best in the NFL.
