The San Francisco 49ers pulled off the biggest upset of Wild Card weekend when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 23-19. They’ll look to do the same in the Divisional round against their rivals, the Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers went from 2.5 to 6.5-point underdogs against the Eagles, but the market proved to be wrong, as the game never got outside of six. This time around, against the team the 49ers have faced twice, oddsmakers are expecting a similar result to Week 18.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the 49ers as 7.5-point underdogs for their upcoming matchup in Seattle. The number is bouncing between 7 and 7.5. The total in the game is 45.5. That total was 47.5, but has since been bet down. That’s because of a 13-3 matchup two weeks ago.

But in that game, the Seahawks didn’t score after having 1st & goal from the 1-yard line. They also missed a field goal and, in the second quarter, stopped themselves from scoring due to a penalty. Likewise, even as good as Seattle is defensively, it’s unlikely the 49ers are held to three points in a game once more. I’d expect Kyle Shanahan to be as aggressive as he was in the Wild Card round.

The market also seems to be overreacting to the loss of George Kittle and the short week of rest. The spread was 3.5 at Levi’s Stadium in Week 18. Seattle has one of the strongest homefield advantages in the NFL, but in the year 2026, that’s worth anywhere from 1.7-2.1 points, at most. It’s undoubtedly a difficult environment, but not one that’s unique to the 49ers. Kittle’s injury is probably worth a half a point. Unless a 6-day rest is worth 1.5 points, the adjustment feels off.
