Drake Maye isn’t the only NFL quarterback enjoying a much-improved sophomore season.

Caleb Williams led the Chicago Bears to their fifth straight win with a monumental 24-15 road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. They lead a highly competitive NFC North at 9-3 after defeating the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Williams celebrated the triumph by posting several photos on Instagram, including a screenshot of multiple ESPN analysts predicting an Eagles win. Maye commented with short and sweet praise for another member of the 2024 NFL Draft class.

“That dude,” Maye wrote.

Williams reciprocated the admiration with a response that most Patriots fans would endorse.

“Dats u my guy,” Williams replied.

Unlike Maye, Williams hasn’t played his way into the MVP conversation. The 24-year-old still wields a modest 88.2 quarterback rating with 6.9 yards per pass attempt this season.

Yet the Bears are experiencing a massive turnaround under first-year head coach Ben Johnson. They’ve catapulted from last to sixth in total offense after going 5-12 in Williams’s rookie campaign.

Bears fans still may wonder if they should have selected Maye or Jayden Daniels instead of Williams with the No. 1 pick, but they’re at least feeling better about the franchise’s future with the former Heisman Trophy winner at the helm.

Maye and Williams will both aim to extend winning streaks and complete a last-to-first transformation under a new coach. Williams can watch Maye guide the Patriots into a “Monday Night Football” showdown against the New York Giants.
