A few days after Terrion Arnold was arrested on eight felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges on June 25, the Lions cut the 2024 first-round pick. Arnold cleared waivers on July 6, but he is now generating attention on the open market.

Nicole Lynn, Arnold’s agent, announced that he worked out for the Texans, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. The Colts, Jets and reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks have also reached out about signing her client. Notably, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn was the Lions’ defensive coordinator during Arnold’s rookie year.

Despite the interest from those teams, the allegations against Arnold suggest he may never play football again. At the very least, he could face a suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The 24-year-old is accused of being the “primary conspirator” in a plot to kidnap and beat three men he believed robbed over $250K of personal property from his Airbnb rental unit in Largo, Fla., in February. Arnold has denied wrongdoing, but he could face life in prison if convicted.

On Friday, a Florida court denied the state’s motion to place an ankle monitor on Arnold, according to Birkett. Arnold remains confined to his home in Florida as he awaits trial, though he is allowed to leave for work- or attorney-related meetings. That explains how he was able to work out for the Texans.

Combining serious off-field allegations and his underwhelming first two seasons, Detroit deemed Arnold expendable despite drafting him 24th overall two years ago. The Alabama product totaled 91 tackles, 18 passes defensed and an interception over 24 games (22 starts) as a Lion. A shoulder injury limited Arnold to eight games in 2025 and forced him to undergo season-ending surgery in December. Healthy again, he was in line to compete for a starting job with the Lions prior to his arrest.
