The Texans immediately replaced the traded Kenyon Greene with veteran guard Laken Tomlinson.
The Texans have immediately found their potential replacement for offensive guard Kenyon Greene who they sent to the Eagles earlier this morning for safety CJ Gardner-Johnson.
Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Texans are signing former Seahawks and Jets guard Laken Tomlinson to a one-year, $4.25 million deal. Tomlinson has also spent time with the Lions and 49ers during his nine-year career.
Tomlinson has been the picture of consistency and durability at the offensive guard position for the better part of the past decade. After starting 24 of his first 32 games as a pro, Tomlinson has played in every single regular season game possible going back to the 2017 season, his first with the 49ers. In 2021, Tomlinson was named to his first and only Pro Bowl as a member of the Niners.
This past season, the 33-year old earned a Pro Football Focus grade of 62.1 which ranked him 66th among all offensive guards.
