Terry McLaurin speaks after practice

Terry McLaurin ended his holdout today and reported to training camp. He was placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List for an ankle injury, and will likely remain there until he gets a new contract. He was signing autographs after practice and he briefly spoke to reporters on his way back into team headquarters.

Terry acknowledged the fans, and said even though he’s dealing with the business side of the game, he never lost sight of how much support he’s gotten from the fans. He said he tries to give back, not just on the field, but off it as well.

Terry: “It feels good, it feels good to be around my teammates and around the fans you know what I mean. I can’t beat that at all. They showed me a lot of love and support and I always try to give that back, not just on the field, but off the field.”

JP Finlay: “What it’s it mean for the to just be so excited to see you?”

Terry: “Man its unbelievable. That’s just the part that gives you joy. You kind of lose sight of some things, sometimes when the business gets involved. I never lost sight of the way they supported me, and the way I’ve poured into them, and they’ve poured into me. So at the end of the day its business, but it has nothing to do with them, and any chance I can come out here, do what I gotta do in there, but, come out here and show them my support and how much I love them, I’m always going to do that, I’ll always be that way.

Chick Hernandez: “To watch them on the field, how odd is that for you?”

Terry: Ya man it’s tough, but it’s the business right now and just trying to take things day by day.

John Keim: “Why’d you want to come in today?”

Terry: “I’m here”
