The New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons have already hired new head coaches this offseason. Could the Tennessee Titans be next? They’re one of seven NFL teams still looking for a head coach.

Yet, it’s become evident that the Titans are getting much closer to making a decision.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Titans have scheduled a second interview with Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. They’re set to interview him on Monday.

However, Hafley is also set for a second interview with the Miami Dolphins at some point this week. The Dolphins may even have a leg up on the competition, being that they just hired Jon-Eric Sullivan to be their new general manager. Sullivan worked with Hafley for two years in Green Bay, and they may be interested in continuing that relationship in Miami.

Six teams have interviewed Hafley so far. Only the Dolphins and Titans have brought him back for a second interview so far. Generally, reaching the second stage is a strong indication that he may be on the verge of getting hired.

Hafley previously served as Boston College’s head coach, but he’s been the Packers’ defensive coordinator for the past two seasons. Thus, if he does get a promotion as an NFL head coach, the Packers will need a new defensive play-caller, but there’s a host of capable options available for Green Bay.
