Training camp’s barely underway, and the NFL already feels like a soap opera. Holdouts, rumors, contract drama, welcome to football in July. Now, the Tennessee Titans find themselves right in the thick of it.

Despite having a decent wide receiver group, the Titans aren’t turning down a chance to upgrade. And who better than Terry McLaurin, the Commanders’ top weapon and a two-time Pro Bowler who’s reportedly looking for a new deal?

McLaurin Could Be the Missing Piece for Titans’ Offense

According to FOX Sports NFL, the Titans are one of eight teams listed as possible landing spots for McLaurin. With his contract drama heating up in Washington, the 29-year-old wideout has left a lot of teams watching closely. Tennessee just happens to be one of the few with both the need and the guts to make a move.

McLaurin enters 2025 in the final year of his three-year, $68.2 million contract. And let’s be honest, he’s outperformed that number. The Ohio State outcome has posted five straight 1,000-yard seasons and hasn’t missed more than three games his entire NFL career. He’s been that guy for Washington’s offense, especially last season, when he led the team and made second-team All-Pro.

Will Terry McLaurin and the Commanders reach a deal or will he sign somewhere else? 🤔

Now, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels uncertain about McLaurin’s return, other teams are circling like sharks. The Titans already have veterans Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett, but both have slowed down a step. Treylon Burks remains a question mark. And while Van Jefferson and Chimere Dike add depth, Tennessee could use a true No. 1.

Add McLaurin to the mix, and suddenly Cam Ward has an explosive weapon to grow with.

Besides the Titans, teams like the Chargers, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Patriots, Raiders, and, of course, the Commanders were listed as suitors. But Tennessee has urgency on its side. They’re not in rebuild mode, they’re trying to compete right now. McLaurin could tilt the scales.

No trade is on the table yet, but whispers are growing louder. If the Titans want to go all-in on Ward’s rookie contract window, this is the move that makes sense. But for now, they’ll just have to hope McLaurin’s holdout becomes their opportunity.
