Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins sent out a very cryptic emoji via social media on Tuesday night, the same day his coach, Zac Taylor, spoke about the former’s contract situation.
As Higgins’ contract expires next month, the Bengals have the difficult task of deciding whether to put the franchise tag him for another year, sign him to a new contract or part ways with him once free agency begins next month.
Taylor gave NFL Network’s Judy Battista an update on Higgins’ status with the franchise on Tuesday at Indianapolis’ latest NFL combine.
“He’s a great player,” Taylor said of Higgins. “He’s a big reason why we’ve had the success we’ve had. We want Tee back, and we’re continuing to work through that.”

Taylor’s quote really makes you wonder if Higgins later tweeting a blue cap emoji (which indicates that somebody is not being honest) is in reference to his coach.

This is certainly mysterious, and we’re endlessly curious what this might mean for Higgins and the Bengals. All we can do is speculate.
While Higgins’ social media post could, of course, be related to something else entirely, the timing of all of this does make you wonder.
