Teddy Bridgewater is not done yet.

According to Rivals High School, Teddy is planning to return for the 2025 campaign. And that return took a major step forward as ESPN is now reporting that the 32-year-old is on the verge of signing with a top NFC contender.

Rivals High School noted that Bridgewater is stepping down from his current position as the head football coach at Miami Northwestern High School, his alma mater. Northwestern recently suspended him due to allegations of providing impermissible benefits to players.

Bridgewater reportedly asked fans to cover expenses he said the school was not providing.

These included $700 per week for Uber rides, $1,300 per week for athletic recovery services, and $2,200 per week for pre-game meals during the season.

Teddy Bridgewater acknowledged the suspension on Facebook:

“The suspension came from MNW, and it’s impossible to suspend someone who doesn’t work for you. So if im suspended from MNW im free to go to another school of my choice but IM NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem.”

After leading Miami Northwestern to a state title last fall, Bridgewater did make an NFL return when he signed with the Detroit Lions in December, ahead of their playoff run. He played one snap in the postseason.

It’s been a whirlwind 18 months for him that appears to have brought him right back to the sidelines on an NFL field.
