Flag Football quarterback Darrell Doucette does not want his coveted spot taken from here.

Doucette has been trending since last year, with flag football set to debut in Los Angeles in four years’ time.

In August 2024, Darrell “Housh” Doucette fired six touchdown passes to four different receivers to lead the US to a 53-21 victory over Austria to claim an unprecedented fifth consecutive flag football world championship.

“This is our sport – we feel like we are the pros,” Doucette said at the time.

He can talk the talk and certainly walk the walk.

Now, Doucette is laying down the gauntlet to Tom Brady after it emerged the seven-time Super Bowl winner wants to play at the Olympics.

NFL owners decided to allow their players to compete for the gold medal at the Los Angeles 2028 games, sparking a frenzy across the league as many athletes would love the chance to win a medal.

A source told Daily Mail that Brady, who will be 51 in 2028, wants to be the quarterback to lead Team USA to glory.

‘He wants a Gold medal. And what better way to remain the GOAT [greatest of all time] and return to the sport he loves, by helping his country win gold,’ an insider said.

Darrell Doucette has told the Washington Post that he and his teammates are more than happy to challenge NFL stars for a spot.

“This is a sport that we’ve played for a long time, and we feel like we are the best at it, and we don’t need other guys. But we all have one goal in mind, and that’s to represent our country. We’re definitely open to all competition. If those guys come in and ball out, and they’re better than us, hats off to them. Go win that gold medal for our country.”

Darrell Doucette Said He Was Better Than Patrick Mahomes

The NFL voted unanimously to allow its players to participate in Olympic flag football in 2028.

Flag football star Darrell Doucette is welcoming competition for roster spots.

Doucette first made headlines during the summer of 2024 when he proclaimed he would be “better than Patrick Mahomes” at flag football because of his “IQ of the game.”

“I know he’s right now the best in the league, I know he’s more accurate, I know he has all these intangibles, but when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him,” Doucette said at the time.
