Tampa Bay Buccaneers Linked to Trade for All-Pro

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made the playoffs five seasons in a row. They’ll need some help to extend that streak to six years, though; a first-place standing in the NFC South puts them in a good place.

Yet, the Bucs have clearly taken a step back this season. They’ve already lost as many games this year as they did all of last season.

The Buccaneers are still hoping to snatch a playoff spot, but no matter what, Tampa Bay will have to find a way to upgrade the roster this offseason. One potential fix could arrive via trade.

Recently, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggested the Buccaneers could attempt to trade for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie. The one-time All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl winner is headed into the final season of his rookie contract. He’ll surely be looking for a raise and an extension this offseason, and Fowler believes the Chiefs could opt to trade him instead.

After all, that’s what they did with L’Jarius Sneed when he became too expensive for the Chiefs’ liking, trading him to the Colts rather than paying him market value. With the Chiefs looking to retool their roster, trading someone like McDuffie for a collection of draft picks could be just what they’re looking for.
