The Giants want to add a veteran, but which one should it be?

How the New York Giants address the quarterback position is going to be the storyline that defines the 2025 offseason for the G-Men.

The Giants are back to β€œPlan A” at the quarterback position after briefly β€” but vigorously β€” pursuing a trade for Matthew Stafford. The plan all along has been to sign a veteran quarterback and then draft a rookie to be the quarterback of the future.

The Giants have been evaluating all of their options for veteran quarterbacks, and right now there are three options that stand out:

  • Aaron Rodgers
  • Jameis Winston
  • Russell Wilson

None of them are ideal options for the Giants, but each checks enough boxes. These three should be available, can lead a functional offense, and also should be relatively affordable on short contracts.

Each of them has their own pros and cons that the Giants will have to consider.

Rodgers and Wilson have both been better quarterbacks than Winston and know what it takes to get to the highest levels. However, either could be more costly than Winston, and added cap flexibility could allow the Giants to add more talent in free agency to account for the cost of a potential trade up.

So, Giants fans, we put it to you: Which of the three most likely veteran quarterbacks do you think would both give the Giants the best chance in 2025 as well as be the best mentor for their quarterback of the future?
