While a large portion of NFL fans aren’t happy about Bad Bunny performing during the Super Bowl 60 halftime show, one surprising source is.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently stuck to his guns in defending the choice, but so did another high-ranking executive in the league.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has a complicated history with racism allegations, which makes it, perhaps, all the more surprising that his daughter Charlotte Jones, a co-owner of the team, fervently defended the choice of Bad Bunny to play at Super Bowl 60.
The younger Jones recently appeared on an episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast.” During the appearance, she discussed the NFL’s growing fan base and the culture surrounding the sport.

“I think our Latina fan base is amazing. And I think when you think about the Super Bowl, you want the No. 1 performer in the world to be there,” Charlotte Jones said. “Our whole society is based on immigrants that have come here and have founded our country. And I think we can celebrate that.”
Some fans have accused the NFL of taking a political stance by choosing the Puerto Rican superstar, who himself has been loudly and outwardly political, refusing to perform in the United States as part of his latest tour. But Jones doesn’t see things that way.
“I don’t think our game is about politics,” she said. “I don’t think people tune in to look at politics. We do everything we can to avoid politics. People will be watching the game. They’ll be celebrating music, and nobody will be thinking what comments on the left side, what comments on the right side … This is about bringing people together.”
Bad Bunny was recently nominated for six awards at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards. That ranks fifth-most among any artist and third-most of any performer.
Among the nominations are Best Album, Record, and Song. In doing so, he becomes the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated in all three categories in the same year.
