Surprising Raiders Rumor Kicks Door Open To Maxx Crosby Offseason Trade Speculation

An out-of-left-field Las Vegas Raiders rumor is sure to create a bunch of Maxx Crosby trade speculation after the season.

Heading into the 2025 NFL season, there was a lot of hope surrounding the Raiders. Following a disappointing 4-13 season a year ago, the front office boldly fired Antonio Pierce after just one season as the full-time head coach. The assumption was that a change at the top could cure another losing season.

So the team hired legendary Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and traded for two-time Pro Bowler Geno Smith. Yet, the results have been even worse than last season. Heading into Week 17, Las Vegas owns a sad 2-13 record and could have its worst season in 20 years. It’s unsurprisingly led to speculation that they could be one-and-done with another head coach this offseason.

Furthermore, as the season descended into another losing year, chatter grew about Maxx Crosby’s future in Vegas, especially before the trade deadline. However, the five-time Pro Bowler has maintained his desire to stay a Raider for life. However, that may have changed on Friday.

New Issues Emerge Between Raiders and Maxx Crosby

According to FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer, the “Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down for the last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building. This could lead to questions about his future in Vegas.”

If the Raiders truly want to rebuild their program after a seventh losing season in their last 10, they really should consider trading the 28-year-old. Especially since he is under team control through 2029 and for a reasonable price. They could potentially get a first-rounder and multiple Day 2 and 3 draft picks.
