Coming off a season marred by injury, Seattle Seahawks star running back Kenneth Walker III has been widely mentioned in offseason trade rumors as he heads into the final year of his rookie deal.

Seahawks GM John Schneider has never been afraid to move on from key players in their primes, including franchise icons Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas. Zach Charbonnet has flashed the ability to be an RB1, and Seattle used a seventh-round pick on Damien Martinez after rushing for 1,002 yards in Miami.

So yes, Kenneth Walker III is very much a logical trade candidate. And for the right offer, Schneider should be willing to trade the 2022 second-round pick instead of risking losing him for nothing in 2026 free agency.

On X/Twitter, rumors are surfacing that the Chicago Bears have contacted the Seahawks regarding a possible Walker trade.

Before the 2025 NFL Draft, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the Bears tried to move up from the No. 10 spot, apparently hoping to land Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

That strongly indicates that the Bears aren’t sold on 2024 free agent signing D’Andre Swift as a No. 1 running back, even though he finished with 1,345 yards of offense and six touchdowns in.

Bears Are The Ideal Landing Spot For Kenneth Walker III

The Bears are ready to win now after a busy offseason, highlighted by the hiring of ex-Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for their HC position. By adding Walker to a backfield with Swift, Caleb Williams would be even better suited to have an MVP-like year with D.J. Moore, Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland already leading his group of playmakers.
