There’s a chance we'll see history on Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles. If the Chiefs win, they’ll be the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The NFL Championship three-peat had happened before, as the Packers accomplished the feat twice. Their first three in a row was when they had the best record in the league from 1929 to 1931, and then again when they won the NFL championship game in 1965, and then the first two Super Bowls against the AFL (1966 and 1967). As a Chicago Bears fan, that pains me a little to write, but as someone who appreciates the history of this great sport, I wanted to point out pro football existed before the creation of the Super Bowl.
As for the Chiefs and Eagles on Sunday, our friends at Fanduel Sportsbook have the Chiefs as a 1.5-point favorite. Our SB Nation Reacts voters are early split in their pick, with 51% of fans taking Philly and the points.
The Reacts voters were a bit more confident that the over would hit on the 48.5-point total.
These are two solid defenses, so the under wouldn’t surprise me at all.
The Reacts voters think Saquon Barkley will continue his dominance and take home the MVP. If the Eagles win, he’s undoubtedly the favorite, but the overall betting fave from FanDuel is K.C.’s Patrick Mahones at +110.
Here are my picks: Chiefs to win and cover, give me the under, and Patrick Mahomes to be named MVP.
Last week’s Reacts questions also included other topics, such as Kendrick Lamar’s opening song at his halftime show. Unlike most fans, I don't see him opening with Not Like Us. That seems like a good transition song about midway through the performance, so give me Humble to open.
When it comes to favorite food from Philadelphia or Kansas City, there is no wrong answer. But if it was one or the other, give me some K.C. BBQ.
Here’s another with no wrong answer, and If I’m being honest, I would have picked All of the above because party time is grazing time, and I want to try a little bit of everything.
