The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) currently have a 34% chance to win the AFC North. Coming into the season, Pittsburgh had the third-best odds to win the division.
It’s still early, but injuries have altered the outlook for the two favorites to win the AFC North.
The Baltimore Ravens (1-3) have struggled out of the gates and are dealing with a slew of injuries. The Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) look lost without quarterback Joe Burrow, who’s recovering from a turf toe injury that will sideline him for at least three months. And the Cleveland Browns (1-3) are most likely going to be the doormat of the division once again.
The Denver Broncos routed the Bengals, 28-3, on Monday Night Football. The Bengals have been out-scored 76–13 in the two games Burrow didn’t start this year.
The Steelers have favorable matchups in their next two games after their bye week against the Cleveland Browns and Bengals. The Steelers very well could be 5-1 heading into their Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers.
Former New England Patriots linebacker and three-time Super Bowl champion Tedy Bruschi thinks the Steelers can win the AFC North.
“You better believe this because, this play right here. A thing of beauty when Aaron Rodgers hits his back foot and gets a runner’s ball out to DK Metcalf. More of this is needed, yes. But as a team, you see the progression in September,” Bruschi said on Get Up. “Finally, the defense starting to make plays and get after the quarterback in Carson Wentz. This is a team that I think can absolutely win the North. I’m not saying they’re going to run away with or anything like that. But this is going to be a December-won division, and right now, I think the Steelers are set up for it.”
