CJ Gardner-Johnson’s 2025 season may be in serious doubt.

The Super Bowl champion went down after defending a John Metchie reception on the second drive for the offense during Texans training camp.

When he went down, he stayed down. The injury looked to be terrible as the entire team dropped to a knee and the camp fell silent.

He was not able to get up because a cart would soon come out and take him off the field. The entire team would surround that cart before it left, which is usually not a good sign that the injury is something he can recover from.

Gardner-Johnson helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in February, but he was traded to the Texans in March.

Just last month, he stated he believed the Eagles got rid of him because they don’t like his competitive approach.

Gardner Johnson was asked on The Pivot podcast why he thinks he’s not an Eagle anymore.

“Scared of a competitor,” Gardner-Johnson answered. “Simple as that.”

CJ Gardner-Johnson felt that he wasn’t supported by his coaches when he was ejected from a late-season game against the Commanders.

CJ Gardner-Johnson Was Traded During The Offseason

C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Houston Texans in exchange for offensive lineman Kenyon Green and a pick swap.

Gardner-Johnson was supposed to bring his competitive edge to the Texans, and now it seems as if he will have to wait to show it.
