For this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, we’re examining the results from our National Surveys regarding Super Bowl LIX, which will be held between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites but 51% of the SB Nation National audience voted that they would take the Eagles and the points on Sunday.
That’s a relatively close percentage that aligns well with the perspective that most people believe this is going to be a close game. While the national audience is expecting the game to be a tight contest, they’re also expecting a lot of points to be scored. At this time, 56% of the fans polled would take the OVER on 48.5 points being scored. This is a common trend in the Super Bowl, as fans are hoping for a high-scoring game with lots of excitement, and that mentality tends to spill over into the betting pool.
Depending on where you live, FanDuel Sportsbook will have a variety of player props, as well as novelty props for this game (things like betting on the coin toss, how long the national anthem will take to sing, as well as a litany of others)—and don’t forget about FanDuel’s FREE Kick of Destiny 3 contest.
One of the more popular wagers fans place is on who will be the game MVP. In our survey, the National voters picked Eagles running back Saquon Barkley 46% of the time, followed by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with 39%. No one else received more than 7% of the votes.
