Sunday’s Cowboys win featured impressive production from across the roster

The Dallas Cowboys thoroughly dominated the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. You can miss me with the “it was just the Jets” talk as this one was a demolition from start to finish.

This is impressive in general, but it is particularly so for the Cowboys as they handled the Jets with a number of players missing. Consider that the Cowboys were without the following (speaking notable players);

  • CeeDee Lamb
  • KaVontae Turpin
  • Tyler Guyton
  • Tyler Smith
  • Cooper Beebe
  • Tyler Booker
  • DeMarvion Overshown
  • Malik Hooker

You can make an argument about how some of the players on this list may not have made a difference, but the point stands that the Cowboys were missing a number of contributors who they have planned to depend on. That they were able to dominate any NFL team with players so far down the roster speaks to some incredible coaching.

Sunday featured bright moments from Dante Fowler, Sam Williams, Ryan Flournoy, Nate Thomas, Brock Hoffman, T.J. Bass, Hakeem Adeiniji… is the picture not clear here? In some respects this game was an episode of Chopped for Brian Schottenheimer and his staff and we all were treated to a five-star level meal.

Finding ways to win games in the NFL is tough enough business, but having to do so without some of your most important players (like, I don’t know, almost your entire offensive line!) exacerbates the intensity. Brian Schottenheimer and Co. deserve enormous props for getting this done and in a matter that rendered most of the second half moot because of how well of a job they did.
