Windy City Gridiron
This is such a fun game to rehash.
The Chicago Bears went on the road and absolutely bullied the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
The biggest win for the Bears in years was so satisfying. The haters are having a hard time responding.
It’s going to be really hard to find three down this week after a game like that.
Stock up
The entire offensive line – After getting a game ball and that performance, how can I not give it to the starting five up front? They paved the way for 281 rushing yards by Chicago running backs.
Cole Kmet, TE – After a few weeks of Colston Loveland getting some shine, let’s take it back to the vet. Kmet had a good day blocking and ended up catching the dagger touchdown in the fourth quarter. He led the Bears with 36 receiving yards.
D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, RBs – I have to highlight the running back duo with 100-yard games in the same game since 1985. Swift’s vision is much improved this season and Monangai has come along really well as a rookie. He’s third among rookie RBs in rushing yards.
Stock down
The entire defensive line – If I can highlight an entire unit, I can low-light another. They played the run OK, but there was absolutely no pass rush. The Bears recorded one QB hit (by C.J. Gardner-Johnson) and one TFL (by Austin Booker).
Gervon Dexter, DT – I am breaking out Dexter because his roughing the passer penalty was so egregious. He took about three steps after Jalen Hurts threw the ball and then hit the Philly signal caller. This kept the Eagles’ drive alive on a third down, and ultimately, they scored on the drive.
