Stefon Diggs has beaten the odds.

The New England Patriots receiver was cleared for full participation in training camp practices, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported Tuesday morning, citing sources. Diggs, who joined the Patriots during the offseason, still is recovering from a torn ACL suffered last October.

“Patriots WR Stefon Diggs has been cleared for full participation at training camp, per sources,” Russini wrote in an X post. “While New England will monitor his reps early on, Diggs has looked strong in his return after tearing his ACL last October while taking team reps with second-year QB Drake Maye.”

The news isn’t entirely surprising, as the Patriots didn’t place Diggs on any injured list ahead of training camp, which officially begins Wednesday. Still, it’s remarkable that Diggs will enter camp seemingly without any major restrictions.

Russini’s report arrived nearly a week after Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer claimed Diggs was “trending” toward being ready for Week 1. Obviously, there’s a long way to go before the Patriots host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 7, but all signs point toward Diggs being available if he avoids any setbacks.

Diggs, 31, racked up 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games for the Houston Texans last season before tearing his ACL.
