The New England Patriots dominated the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, but they have to quickly turn their attention to Week 5, because they have a difficult matchup against the Buffalo Bills on their hands.
Since the fall of the Patriots’ dynasty, the Bills have emerged as the top team in the AFC East, having won the division each of the past five years. Buffalo hasn’t lost a game yet this season, which goes to show just how tough this game is going to be for New England.
Nobody knows better than Stefon Diggs how talented the Bills are. Diggs played for Buffalo from 2020 to 2023, and during that time, he turned himself into one of the top wide receivers in the league, earning a Pro Bowl selection all four years he suited up for them.
It’s been a while since Diggs suited up for his old team, but he doesn’t think much has changed for them since his departure. With that in mind, he admitted that it’s going to be a real test to go into Highmark Stadium and walk away with a win.
“That team has been good year in and year out,” Diggs said when speaking to reporters on Wednesday. “Things haven’t changed, especially since I left. I know that team well, so it’s gonna be another test for us.”
Diggs spent the 2024 campaign with the Houston Texans, but he only lasted eight games before suffering a torn ACL that cut his season short. He signed a three-year, $69 million contract with the Patriots in free agency, and he is fresh off his best game with his new team, hauling in six passes for 101 yards in Week 4.
Diggs is likely going to have to put together a similar sort of out if New England wants any shot of taking down Buffalo. With this game taking place on Sunday Night Football, kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET.
