The New England Patriots have won back-to-back games for the first time since the 2022 season.
Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, meanwhile, has recorded consecutive 100-yard receiving games for the first time since the 2023 campaign.
ESPN analytics writer Seth Walder made a bold prediction on Friday, saying that the four-time Pro Bowler will post 80 or more receiving yards for the third straight contest when New England plays the New Orleans Saints in Week 6.
“Diggs will continue his hot streak and record 80-plus receiving yards against the Saints. Through five weeks, Diggs ranks second in ESPN’s open score,” Walder wrote.
Diggs’ ascension this fall has been impressive.
The 31-year-old began the season with just 13 catches for 112 scoreless yards across the Patriots’ first three games. Diggs is still looking for his first touchdown with his new team, but has registered 16 receptions for 247 yards on 19 targets over the last two contests.
The last time that the Maryland product had three straight 100-yard performances (let alone 80-yard outputs) was Weeks 3 to 6 of the 2023 season with the Buffalo Bills.
