Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, but he expects to be good to go for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

Metcalf suffered the ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears.

“Just got rolled up on,” Metcalf said. “I think I’ll be alright [for Sunday].”

Head coach Mike Tomlin said during his Tuesday press conference that Metcalf could be limited at the beginning of the week.

“A couple of guys that are managing some in-game things from last week that may be limited at the early portions of the week — and we’ll see where their participation leads — Joey Porter with a hip, DK Metcalf got his ankle rolled, but he was able to finish,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday. “But again, certainly, we’ll probably limit him at the early portions of the week. And the same thing for Ben Skowronek with a shoulder.”

Metcalf exited the team’s matchup with the Bears in the second quarter.

Metcalf missed a sizable portion of a march that ended with a failed fourth-down try. He exited the tent without his helmet and attempted to run, performing lateral movements and get-offs, before being given his helmet back.

Metcalf left the game in the third quarter again after Jonnu Smith fell on his ankle after a tackle. He returned on the next series.

Metcalf had scored the Steelers’ first touchdown of the game, powering in from six yards out in the first frame.
