The new Steelers WR is not at voluntary workouts.

The Pittsburgh Steelers began OTAs on Tuesday, with the vast majority of players being in attendance. However, one noteworthy new Steeler isn’t in attendance, and that is wide receiver DK Metcalf.

Pittsburgh traded for the star wideout back in March to be their new No. 1 pass-catcher and gave him a big extension right off the bat. It became clearer that Metcalf was the Steelers’ top target when they traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. And while Metcalf isn’t in attendance, ESPN’s Brooke Pryor did add that, according to Pat Freiermuth, Metcalf has been around a lot during the offseason.

It is important to note OTAs are voluntary workouts. T.J. Watt is not in attendance either, which is the norm for these workouts. That said, Metcalf not being there as a first-year Steeler may rub some the wrong way. In the grand scheme of things, though, this doesn’t feel like anything to worry about.
