Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. will miss another game for his team against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 on Sunday morning, as he has been ruled out and made inactive due to injury.

Porter has been dealing with a hamstring injury since he left the team’s Week 1 game against the New York Jets on Sept. 7. He was listed as a limited participant in practice in all three sessions, both in Pittsburgh and Dublin, Ireland, leading up to Sunday morning’s international contest, and was officially listed as questionable to play.

That’s the closest Porter has come to dressing since the injury, but it will now be two more weeks until he returns from the injury, with the Steelers on a bye in Week 5.

With Porter out of action, the Steelers have been starting Brandin Echols at outside cornerback alongside Darius Slay and Jaylen Ramsey, with Ramsey moving around the formation a good bit.

James Pierre will serve as the team’s fourth cornerback. He played a good bit in Week 3, when Darius Slay also went down with an in-game injury, though Slay is expected to return to action this week.

The team’s second-round pick out of Penn State in the 2023 NFL Draft, Porter had missed just one game due to injury in his first two seasons. He now has missed three contests in 2025.

In addition to Porter, starting running back Jaylen Warren, also listed as questionable, will not play due to a knee injury. Tight end Jonnu Smith, questionable with a hip issue, will dress.
