PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Scotty Miller will miss his third straight game, despite beginning the process of returning from a broken finger.

The Steelers ruled Miller out on Friday for the team’s Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football. That will be the third straight game that Miller has missed with a broken pinky on his left hand, which Miller suffered in practice in Week 8.

Miller had been wearing a larger brace that connected two fingers on his left hand, but appeared at practice on Thursday wearing just a splint on his left pinky finger. Miller was obviously very limited in practice, not wearing a helmet and not having any balls thrown his way, despite running routes. He was listed as did not practice on the team’s injury report for Thursday and Friday.

The quad issue first cropped up for Peppers in the middle of last week, with head coach Mike Tomlin describing it as only a soft-tissue injury. Tomlin said on Tuesday that it was possible that Peppers would return this week, but some light stretching before practice on Friday was all the work he managed to get in.

With Miller out, expect rookie Ke’Shawn Williams to retain his spot in the lineup for at least another week. Williams has been a solid contributor on special teams since he was initially called up from the practice squad to replace Calvin Austin III, when he missed time with a shoulder injury.

In four games, Williams has nine punt returns for 101 yards and 10 kick returns for 248 yards. He has also played in four snaps on offense.
