Potential Pittsburgh Steelers target for receiver help, Keenan Allen, reunited with the Los Angeles Chargers Tuesday evening.

The Pittsburgh Steelers still may be in the market for another receiver addition. However, one free agent possibility is now crossed off the list. On Tuesday, veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen decided to return to the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal.

This isn’t a huge surprise, as Pittsburgh didn’t appear to make a significant push, but it was likely on their radar. Allen visited the Chargers not too long ago, and the reunion made sense.

Allen, who turned 33 this offseason, had previously kept the door open to signing with Pittsburgh. In a TikTok livestream, he was intrigued by the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, but he didn’t see himself coming to the Steel City.

“There’s two sides to the story. I mean, [Aaron Rodgers] being a quarterback, of course, that interests you,” he said during the livestream. “But Pittsburgh? No.”

Within the same livestream, though, he didn’t completely rule out joining the Steelers. “But hey, you never know.” Allen said.

The Steelers have indicated they are in the market for a potential addition after reaching out to the Washington Commanders regarding Terry McLaurin. The Commanders, however, don’t appear to be willing to part ways.

As it stands, the Steelers are running low on options to add a receiver who could complement DK Metcalf. Allen was the simplest route, along with a handful of others.

The Steelers will head to Jacksonville Saturday to take on the Jaguars in their first preseason game. Perhaps someone on the roster could ease the search with a strong performance.
