The Steelers traded for safety Kyle Dugger from the New England Patriots, reinstated linebacker Malik Harrison from the injured reserve list and placed strong safety DeShon Elliott and defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale on injured reserve.
Defensive tackle Domenique Davis was waived from the injured reserve list.
The Steelers signed offensive tackle Jack Driscoll, safety Darrick Forrest, wide receiver John Rhys Plulmee and released running back/kick returner Raheem Blackshear and linebacker Jacoby Windmon from their practice squad.
Running backs Trey Sermon and Lew Nichols were elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco carved up the Steelers defense after replacing Anthony Richardson due to injury and Justin Fields had his worst start of the season in a 27-24 Indianapolis Colts win over the Steelers on Sept. 29, 2024.
The Colts jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Steelers came alive. Fields ended up throw fir 312 yards, and touchdown, but was sacked four times and had two fumbles, losing one.
Jonathan Taylor rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown for Indy.
The Steelers are 27-8 all-time against the Colts in the series, which dates back to 1950. The Steelers and Colts were both NFL teams that moved to the AFC after the merger. Since the Colts moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1984, the Steelers are 18-5 against the Colts.
In Pittsburgh, the Steelers are 17-2 against the Colts, with the two victories coming in 2008 and in 1968.
First-round tight end Tyler Warren went to Penn State and was the Colts’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Guard Matt Goncalves went to Pitt, as did practice squad center Jimmy Morrissey.
Practice squad cornerback Mike Hilton played for the Steelers from 2016-20.
Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge worked at Pitt from 2003-07 and 2017-23.
