The Steelers signed defensive tackle Brodric Martin from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.
Edge rusher DeMarvin Leal was waived, cleared waivers and re-signed to the practice squad.
Running back Trey Sermon was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
The Steelers signed defensive back Daequan Hardy, linebacker Mark Robinson and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad and released cornerback Beanie Bishop and wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee from their practice squad.
Robinson was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Justin Fields ran for one score and threw for another as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-10 at Acrisure Stadium on Sept. 22, 2024.
Fields finished 25 of 32 for 245 yards and had a five-yard rushing touchdown and a 55-yard scoring pass to Calvin Austin III.
The Pittsburgh defense beat up an already injured Justin Herbert, knocking him out of the game and finishing with five sacks.
Najee Harris finished with 70 yards rushing on 18 carries.
The Steelers are 25-10 all-time against the Chargers. The teams have traded victories in their last seven games.
The Steelers have a 9-7 advantage in Chargers home games, with an 8-6 record at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium and a 1-1 record in the Los Angeles area, with a 24-17 win at Dignity Health Sports Park, a soccer stadium in Carson, California in 2019 and a 41-37 loss at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood in 2021.
Harris signed with the Chargers this offseason after having his fifth-year option declined by the Steelers. Cornerback Donte Jackson also went from Pittsburgh to the Chargers as a free agent this offseason.
Former Steelers first-round draft pick, outside linebacker Bud Dupree, is in his second season in L.A.
