Behind the Steel Curtain
Both the Bears and Steelers had lengthy injury and game status reports following Friday’s practices.
However, Pittsburgh has updated its report on Saturday, removing the “questionable” tags for veteran defenders Cam Heyward and Darius Slay — they should be good to go on gameday.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains questionable for Pittsburgh while outside linebacker Alex Highsmith is still doubtful. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reported Saturday that Highsmith is “not expected to play.”
The Bears haven’t updated their injury report, which includes their top three linebackers being out, multiple defensive backs questionable, and starting left tackle Theo Benedet questionable.
But in a Saturday report, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler posted that top Chicago cornerbacks Kyler Gordon and Jaylon Johnson — who are currently on injured reserve but questionable to play after practicing this week — will not be activated for Sunday.
The Steelers look to be facing an extremely short-staffed Chicago Bears defense on Sunday.
