The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in former Tennessee Titans linebacker Otis Reese IV for a tryout on Friday, according to the NFL’s transaction sheet. Reese was waived by the Titans on Wednesday after they claimed LB Brian Asamoah II.

Reese signed with the Titans as an unrestricted free agent following the 2023 NFL draft. In 2023, he played in seven games and started three, recording 21 total tackles. Reese primarily played on special teams during his two years with the Titans.

Reese had a standout performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14 last season, recording seven tackles and his first career interception.

On Jan. 4, 2025, Reese was placed on injured reserve before the final game of the season due to an ankle injury. He appeared in 13 games during the season, including two starts, and finished the year with 17 tackles, two pressures, and an interception.

On March 7, 2025, Reese signed a one-year contract extension with the Titans. It seemed like Tennessee had high hopes for Reese but the additions of Khaleke Hudson, Blake Lynch and Asamoah made him disposable

Reese, 27, started his college career at Georgia before transferring to University of Mississippi at the start of the 2020 season. He played three seasons for the Rebels. He also was a defensive back/safety in college.

In 2022, Reese started 11 games for the Rebels, finishing second on the team with 84 total tackles, with eight coming for a loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception. In 2021, he started all 13 games in the secondary for Mississippi. He ranked fourth on the team with 90 tackles, including two for a loss. He also had1.5 sacks and broke up two passes in coverage and forced a fumble.

If signed, Reese will join a Steelers inside linebackers room that features Patrick Queen, Payton Wilson, Cole Holcomb, Malik Harrison, Carson Bruener and Devin Harper.
