PITTSBURGH — Head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t rule out Jalen Ramsey for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ matchup with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Ramsey is dealing with a hamstring ailment suffered during the third quarter of the Steelers’ win over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin. He had the team’s bye week to start healing up.

“Two guys that we’re watching very closely that certainly are gonna be limited at the front part of the week, but may perk up and be included toward the latter part of the week is Calvin Austin, with his shoulder, and Jalen Ramsey, with his hamstring,” Tomlin said Tuesday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. “Both have been highly aggressive from a rehabilitation standpoint during the bye week, and so I’m really encouraged about the potential of those guys, but we’ll take it, certainly, day-to-day.”

Earlier in the game, after he scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, Ramsey faked an injury to his hamstring before grittying, borrowing Justin Jefferson’s scoring celebration. The play was nixed after review, which ruled that Minnesota tailback Jordan Mason touched the loose ball while out of bounds.

Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin discussed how the defense would manage without him, in the case he’s not able to go.

“I think it’s like any time you lose a starter. You’re gonna have to work through those things,” Austin said. “But, right now, it’s typical. It happens because you have to deal with it every year. Most of the time, it’s not the same starting unit out there all 17 games. So we’ll work our way through it if it shows up that way. We’ll figure it out.”
